The 33-year-old TOWIE star broke up with fiancé Rami Hawash this year, after they got engaged at Christmas.
In an interview with a UK magazine, Gemma revealed that she is now happier than she’s ever been.
She said: “The last series of TOWIE was up and down for me. I was in a terrible relationship, I finally got the confidence to walk away from it and it is lovely to sit here today five months on happier than I’ve ever been.”
After becoming down in her last serious relationship, Gemma turned to food. She said: “Last year my self esteem was rock bottom. I gained three stone in that relationship from comfort eating.
“You get into food and you think, ‘oh I’m sitting in tonight, I will get some chocolates to eat while watching the telly or I will have an Indian chicken korma and garlic naan’, all the wrong style foods because that was my only comfort at the time.”
Now Gemma is out of the relationship and working hard on her fashion range, for which she is about to launch her fifth collection. She says her clothes are all about making bigger women feel beautiful.
“It’s taken five months to get over it and I feel happy in my life and my clothes are a celebration of making women feel good,” she said.
“It’s making women realise they can wear a bight pink kaftan and feel fashionable instead of making bigger women live their lives in a what I call a uniform of black leggings, black tops, trousers and shirts.”
