Sam was diagnosed with Crohns diseased following a 6-week mystery illness.

The star first fell ill in the Celebrity Big Brother house and she was hospitalised after exiting the show following a frightening collapse.

Speaking to The Mirror, Jessica showed her support for her poorly friend. ‘I watched her and it's a shame you didn't get to see more of her because she was really, really ill in that house and I think she did amazingly to stay in there for what she did.’

She continued: ‘It's not really our business to divulge into it but she's, she's OK I think.'

According to the NHS website, Crohns disease ‘is a long-term condition that causes inflammation of the lining of the digestive system.’

Sam became unwell in the Celebrity Big Brother house.

Sufferers will experience symptoms of abdominal pain, stomach upsets, fatigue and unintentional weight loss.

There is no cure for Crohns, but flare-ups are often treated with steroids.

Sam said before her diagnosis: ‘My immune system is down so I'm picking up every bug going. My bowels are swollen and so are my intestines.’

‘I just couldn't keep my food down. It was horrible. I lost all the muscle definition in my stomach.’
