The 27-year-old is so determined to beat his demons that he's allegedly spending Christmas in The Priory.
It comes after it was reported Arg failed a drugs test and was suspended from The Only Way Is Essex.
A source told The Sun: "James was devastated by his suspension from the show and is truly sorry for letting down the cast and the production team on the let series.
"He's made the brave decision to spend his birthday and the festive period in rehab. He knows this is the most difficult season to manage his lifestyle so he is removing temptation by ensuring he can't go out.

"He is feeling really good about his time there and is upbeat and positive. He wants to win Lydia back, too."
Arg apparently wants to follow in best mate Mark Wright's footsteps and settle down with Lydia.
The source continued: "He wants to prove to her he is husband material and that they can settle down together eventually."
Earlier this year Arg sparked a missing person alert when he failed to show up for a flight to Majorca.
