Earlier this week, Chris Brown deleted his Twitter account following a foul-mouthed attack on comedy writer Jenny Johnson, who challenged him on his assault on Rihanna. But this isn't the first time a celebrity has lost their temper on the social networking site - let's take a look at our top Twitter spats of all time...
Chris Brown vs Jenny Johnson
Incase he wasn't disliked enough, Chris Brown - who famously assaulted his then-girlfriend Rhianna back in 2009 - took to the twitosphere to launch an attack on comedian Jenny Johnson earlier this week.
The US comic rubbed Brown up the wrong way when she tweeted: “'Being a worthless piece of s*** can really age a person” in response to his comment “I look old as f***! I’m only 23…” on a photo on his page.
Losing his temper with the comedian, Brown let rip with “Take them teeth out when u Sucking my d*** HOE.”
But when Jenny, who has over 300,000 twitter followers came back with It's "HO" not "HOE" you ignorant f***' Chris continued with his foul mouthed tirade, adding: “mom says hello... She told me not to s**** in ur mouth, wanted me to s*** right on the retina.”
The RnB star has since deleted his Twitter account.
Cheryl Cole and Cher Lloyd
They may have looked like the best of friends throughout X Factor - Cheryl even sensationally put Cher through to the live finals over favourite Gamu Nhengu despite forgetting the words to her song - but it looks as though those feelings were lost as soon as it was over.
'Cher suggested to a radio station that Cheryl didn't sing live'
The drama started when Cher suggested to a radio station that Cheryl didn't sing live.
Cheryl then tweeted: 'Be Careful who you kick on your way up .. They kick you twice as hard on your way back down.. #unappreciationisugly'
Realising her mistake, Cher then went on Daybreak to apologise to the star. Too little too late?
Lily Allen vs British soldier
She’s had more than her fair share of twitter spats - most famously with Piers Morgan - but this year, things took a turn for the worse when a British soldier sent an apparently racist tweet relating to the pop singer.
The soldier wrote: “just seen you bought s*** I mean adopted a child from Africa.”
To which Allen replied: “How do you report someone on here. That guy I retweeted should be banned.”
27-year old Lily then reported the soldier to the MOD, and was subjected to abuse from his supporters including one who said: “@lilyrosecooper What a rancid bi*** you are! Trying to get a hero fired over banter. Of course you’d be ok if you didn’t work with Daddy etc.”
Professor Green vs Victoria MIC
During an especially bitchy episode of Made in Chelsea, in which Victoria Barker Harber threatened to slap Mille Macintosh, her loyal boyfriend Proffesor Green tweeted: “Did I just see a horse say it'd slap Millie?”
'Did I just see a horse say it'd slap Millie?'
Despite trying to get the upper hand by replying: “It’s surprising you know what a horse looke like @professorgreen Not many of those roaming the hackney estates darling” Victoria just gave the rapper fuel for his fire.
After calling Victoria a “nasty piece of work” Green ended the spat with the closing line: “going to totter off back to a hackney estate where i won't run into any horses. i'll be wearing a tracksuit and smoking b&h gold.” Victoria later apologised for her comments.
Lord Alan Sugar and Tulisa
Lord Sugar sparked a Twitter spat with X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos after asking his 2.2m followers: “Can you tell me who the hell this Tulisa bird is - what has she done?”
And later followed it up with: “This Tulisa talks nonsense on X factor, what qualifications does she have to judge singing talent. Please advise where I am missing the point.”
But fiery Tulisa didn't take the comments lying down, tweeting: 'As someone that came from nothing to something maybe u should have a little more respect for people that have done the same. I have grafted from the age of 11 with my band NDUBZ, we wrote & produced all our music, sold 3 platinum albums,3 sell out tours the last being an arena tour & a number 1 debut solo single!
She added: 'I have worked my b***dy ass off! So mr lord of judgement… stick to judging on the Apprentice & I'll stick to what I know MUSIC #itsaNOfromme.'
To which he responded: 'What do you know? That is the point. Don't insult me by comparing my humble beginnings with yours.'
Katherine Jenkins vs Rumours nobody had heard…
[ASSETHERE=image]
Out of nowhere in August, opera star Katherine Jenkins posted a bizzare tweet about a rumour that hadn’t yet reached the public domain.
She wrote: "Dear Twitter friends, I've read some horrible rumours on here & want u 2 know I absolutely deny I've had an affair with David Beckham. The rumours are very hurtful, untrue & my lawyers tell me actionable."
She continued, saying that they’d only met twice and that she had: “never been on my own with him and never arranged to meet up.”
There was no official comment from the Beckham camp.
