Tom Jones has been a singing legend for decades, but little is known about his personal life.
In a brand new interview, the 75-year-old revealed details about his marriage to his wife of 58-years, Linda.
The couple were childhood sweethearts, meeting at the age of 12 and marrying at the tender age of 16.
Tom and Linda’s marriage has survived a number of affairs- including Tom’s fling with former Miss World Marjorie Wallace- as well as Linda’s battle with mental illness.
Speaking to the Sunday Times Magazine, Tom said: “I’ve realised she’s had a depression since she was young… She’s always had a touch of it.”
Linda’s depression caused her to become a recluse with her forcing herself to stay in their marital home.
“I don’t think she really enjoyed getting out and about, and I think she was happy with being in the house.”
Tom says he still loves Linda but says she has ‘lost her spark’.
“Linda is the love of my life, and she still is, even though she doesn’t look like she did. I don’t look like I did either, but I try my best. She’s lost her spark.”
He previously told The Metro that Linda preferred not to socialise in their home, retreating to her room when guests come over.
Tom said: “I don’t have parties at my house. My wife is a very quiet person and she gets very nervous if anybody shows up.
“Like Robbie Williams showed up the other day and my wife stayed in the bedroom. Even though she knows him.”
