Giovanna gave birth to her and Tom’s first child earlier this year, and she recently described the emotions she went through becoming a mother.
She told OK!: ‘I have had a few times where Tom’s come home and found me crying. There was another night when Mario and my sister Giorgina were over and I burst into tears. Your hormones go crazy.’
She continued: ‘The first few weeks were really tough though. You’ve got your own recovery and then there’s this alien being inside your house who depends on you for everything. It was quite a shock. So many people said to us, ‘Enjoy your sleep when you can,’ and we were like, ‘Yeah, yeah, yeah…’ But it’s so true. The tiredness is on another level.’
Luckily, 29-year-old Giovanna’s first experiences as a mother haven’t put her off having another baby.
'I can’t see us stopping at one, but not any time soon,’ the young mum says.
She then described 28-year-old Tom’s devotion to their newborn son.
‘He’s a great dad. Tom does all the nappy stuff and I do all the feeding, so we’ve got it all sussed. And Buzz reserves his smiles for Tom when he’s home.’
Brave Giovanna decided not to have any painkillers during her labour.
‘My labour was intense, with no drugs,’ she says. ‘Hypnobirthing is about listening to your body- I felt like I’d taken all the drugs on earth because your body produces its own pain relief.’
