Tom Daley, 19, announced he was in a relationship with a man via his YouTube channel yesterday.

He made his announcement via Twitter, posting:

"Got something I need to say...not been an easy decision to make, hope you can support me! :)" with a link to the video.

The video begins:

"In spring this year my life changed massively when I met someone, and they make me feel so happy, so safe and everything just feels great.

"That someone is a guy."

And according to recent reports, close friend and openly gay Aaron encouraged the famous diver.

Hours after Tom’s tweet, the 25-year-old choreographer took to Twitter, writing:

"Big respect, @TomDaley1994 #proud".

A friend of Tom’s told a paper: “He and Aaron have formed a very close friendship.

“Tom always looked up to Aaron. He’s been one of the main reasons behind his decision to come out.”

And a source at a club Tom was partying at over the weekend, revealed one of Tom’s friends said : "As you can probably tell Tom is gay and he’ll be coming out tomorrow".
