They’ve endured highs and lows during their 23-year marriage but, last week, birthday girl Victoria Beckham packed on the PDA with husband David in a series of loved-up Instagram posts.
Celebrating her 49th on an exotic holiday with her family, the fashionista shared a slew of pictures to Instagram – including several steamy shots of her and David, captioning a sweet one of them locking lips, “In the middle of nowhere with my favourite person @ davidbeckham”.
Hours earlier, the former Spice Girl shared a snap of a beaming David cuddled up to her as – despite her notoriously strict diet regime – she tucked into a giant piece of cake. She told her 30.8 million followers, “Celebrating meeeeee!! last night. I love you all so much!”
The mum of four – who was joined on the trip by eldest son Brooklyn, 24, and his wife Nicola, 28, son Cruz, 18, and 11-year-old daughter Harper – made reference to her 20-year-old son, Romeo, who couldn’t join the celebrations, adding, “We miss you @ Romeobeckham.”
Returning the love, football legend David, 47, publicly marked his wife’s special day by posting a throwback snap of himself kissing his wife’s nose, writing, “Happy birthday to the most amazing wife and mummy x someone who inspires us every single day. We love you and you deserve to have the most perfect day.”
Shortly before the gushing birthday posts, Posh sent fans into a frenzy when she posted a gym selfie which featured David’s ripped, naked torso in the mirror behind her.
As she showed-off her toned physique with a bench press, her head was covering David’s bottom half – with many questioning whether the former England captain was in his birthday suit, which she seemed to enjoy as she joined in on the joke by drawing arrows towards her pin-up hubby.
And insiders say the rumoured recent fallout between Victoria and daughter-in-law, Nicola, has brought her and David closer together than ever. A source says, “The last few months have been incredibly tough for Vic and David, but instead of letting the stress affect them, it’s strengthened their bond and made them an even tighter unit.
“Watching Vic go through so much anguish prompted David to really step up for her in every way. She’s credited him with being her rock, not only supporting her through all the emotional turmoil, but for helping guide her through a very tense and difficult situation, which has strengthened their connection and made them fall even deeper in love with one another.”
“They’ve made a sexy pact to spend more quality time together. Posh has admitted she still fancies the pants off David and can’t wait to spend more time with him in the bedroom!”
Posh was said to have been devastated by Nicola’s decision to have chosen Valentino to design her wedding gown over her VB brand, ahead of her and Brooklyn’s lavish nuptials at her father’s Florida mansion last April. Her feathers were further ruffled when the model later publicly spoke about the incident, which further fuelled allegations of a feud.
David was reportedly forced to read the newlyweds “the riot act” as he tried to play peacemaker between his
wife and daughter-in-law.
In February, tensions were heightened when Nicola’s billionaire father, Nelson, 80, launched a lawsuit with the newlyweds’ wedding planners, which revealed the chaotic lead-up to the nuptials had been kept secret from Victoria.
But in April, she and David joined their son and daughter-in-law to celebrate their first wedding anniversary – hinting that the foursome were back on good terms.
The source adds, “David’s been mediating between Nicola and Victoria, which has ultimately stopped the fallout worsening, and Vic’s incredibly grateful to David for being a calm and supportive force.
“While the lawsuit is by no means over, Vic has taken a step back from it all and is focusing on rebuilding her relationship with Nicola and on her family. With their 25th wedding anniversary next year, she’s hoping to celebrate with a lavish vow renewal to solidify their marriage as they look forward to creating many more happy memories together.”
