The reality star was rushed to hospital after her plastic surgery went frighteningly wrong

Farrah Abraham, 23, routinely undergoes lip filler injections to give herself a plumper pout, but the Teen Mom star decided to try out implants this time around.

The young mother apparently suffered an allergic reaction to the anaesthetic given to her before the procedure, causing her lips to swell dramatically.

She took to Twitter to share two shocking photographs of her dramatically changed self from the A&E of her local Californian hospital.

Farrah wrote: "Girlfriends don't say I didn't warn ya ! #BOTCHED California #ER #fixit"

Despite the severity of the mishap, however, Farrah was able to see the funny side of things.

She shared a photograph of herself next to cartoon character Leela from Futurama (yes, the one-eyed mutant), writing: "Gotta love my new look!"

Farrah found fame on MTV's Teen Mom after giving birth aged 16 to daughter Sophia Laurent.

She has become well known for her love of plastic surgery - although we imagine her latest procedure will serve as a staunch reminder to the fact that even the simplest enhancements can go wrong.
