Tamara Eccletsone, 29, became a first time mum earlier this month when she and husband Jay Rutland welcomed baby girl Sophia into the world.

"Motherhood is the best thing that's ever happened to me, and I'm enjoying every minute of it"

And now the heiress has now declared motherhood to be "the best thing that's ever happened" to her in an intimate interview with Hello! magazine.

She said: "Motherhood is the best thing that's ever happened to me, and I'm enjoying every minute of it. I knew I would love it - I just didn't know how much. I feel born to be a mother.

"Although I've always wanted children, I've never felt that intensely before. But Sophia has turned my world upside down in an amazing way and I've never been happier. Having my own family with Jay is just perfect."

Just like so many first-time mums, Tamara admitted that she was terrified something would go wrong in the delivery room, adding: "When Sophia let out a cry straight away, I was so relieved.

"My greatest fear was that we wouldn't hear anything. I held her first and it was such an amazing feeling.

"Jay and I had wondered what she would look like and she was absolutely perfect. She was born with loads of dark hair, like us both, and stunning blue eyes."

Sophia was born on 17th march, and the socialite daughter of Formula One mogul Bernie Ecclestone announced the birth of her and jay's first child by uploading a shot of mother and baby onto the former reality star's Instagram page.

She wrote alongside the immaculate snap: "Welcome to the world Sophia, our beautiful baby girl, born yesterday 6lb 9oz. Proudest day of our lives, never felt love like this. X."

And, for her first Mother's Day, Tamara received an extra-special present from her baby girl.

Posting a photo of the elegantly wrapped gift on Instagram, she wrote: "Fist Mothers Day such a special day so proud to be a mummy best feeling ever can't put into words how much I love Sophia bond like no other xxx"
