The Sports Illustrated cover girl posted the shocking snap to her Instagram account with a caption joking: ‘I swear they raised me well.’

The photo shows the model as a tot holding a cigarette between her teeth.

What was supposed to be a humorous joke about her mum and dad’s parenting skills was quickly received more negatively by some of the model’s shocked fans.

Thankfully, the cigarette was unlit- but the photo still outraged some of the 28-year-old model’s Instagram followers.

One fan posted: ‘Not cool Bar, sorry.’Some fans saw the funny side of the photo, finding humour in it.

One of Bar’s more forgiving fans wrote: ‘I liked it! Verry funny.’

The Israel-born star has appeared on numerous magazine covers and was voted #1 in Maxim’s Hot 100 list of 2012.

The star dated Wolf Of Wall Street actor Leonardo DiCaprio between 2005 and 2009.

More recently, the model has become known for her philanthropic endeavours, campaigning for gay rights in her home country of Israel and volunteering for Project Sunshine, a charity that helps children with life-threatening illnesses.
