Sir Bruce Forsyth was taken to hospital following the fall, which caused him to suffer from facial injuries and a ‘minor concussion’.

As a result, he has been forced to pull out of his upcoming variety show, Bruce's Hall Of Fame.

"This morning, Sir Bruce Forsyth slipped and fell at his home resulting in facial abrasions and minor concussion," said a spokesperson for Kalooki Pictures.

"He attended hospital and had a series of scans and tests all of which happily proved negative."

They added: "However, because of his injury, he has been told by doctors he must have complete rest for at least seven days."

The former Strictly Come Dancing host is now recovering from his injuries at home.

He will be replaced in the show by his co-star Alexander Armstrong.

Last year, Sir Bruce stepped down from his role as a Strictly presenter, where he was replaced by Claudia Winkleman.

He said at the time that he was relieved to be leaving, admitting: “I don’t have the feeling I usually get every time this year, knowing I’ve got to slog away until Christmas and then go away dog tired.

“I’ll feel very strange and I’ll miss it like mad, but when you’ve been with something for 10 years that will happen.”

Get better soon, Brucie!
