Following on from their romantic performance on Saturday night, Jay McGuiness and dance partner Aliona Vilani have been forced to deny romance has blossomed between them.

After performing a waltz that gave them the highest score of the night, and left Darcey Busell commending their ‘intensity,’ the formed Wanted band member was forced to deny he was seeing Vilani.

Speaking to the Sun on Sunday, McGuiness said: “Aliona is happily married to an Irish fellow who I think is a legend.

“My eyes won’t wander in our rehearsals. She’s the one in control and I’m the one who needs to be constantly told what the hell it is I’m supposed to be doing.”

Rumours began to circulate the pair might be more than just dance partners after they were seen getting very cosy at the Pride of Britain awards - sharing a seat at some points.

But regardless, Jay insists that there is nothing more than a business relationship between Aliona and him, stating:

“I am single but I didn’t expect to meet someone on Strictly.

“It’s a dance show, not a dating show.”

What do you think, will there be romance on the cards for some of this year’s contestants?
