It looks as if it’s going to be a BIG summer for Strictly Come Dancing babies.
Kristina Rihanoff is expecting her first baby with rugby star Ben Cohen, and is just two month away from her due date.
And it seems as if their bubba already has a playmate, as Kristina’s good friend - and fellow Strictly star - Katya Virshilas has just given birth to her own bundle of joy.
That’s right; Katya and her husband, Klaus Kongsdal, have welcomed a beautiful baby boy - and they couldn’t be happier.
A representative for the couple confirmed to HELLO! magazine, saying:’ “Katya Virshilas and Klaus Kongsdal are delighted to announce the birth of their beautiful baby boy.
“Mother and baby are doing well.”
There’s no word yet on what baby name they’ve chosen for their son, but we can’t wait to find out.
The 32-year-old dancer announced her happy news back in November 2015, saying: “I can't hide it any more – my bump is quite big!”
We can understand why she chose to keep her baby news as private as possible for so long, however, as Katya lost her and Klaus’s first baby in 2014.
“I was elated,” she said at the time. “But the doctor looked at the scan and just went very quiet.
“He then told us there wasn't a heartbeat.”
The news was even more painful as it came on Klaus’s 40th birthday.
After discovering that the baby’s heart was no longer beating, Katya was forced to undergo an operation to remove the underdeveloped egg.
However, determined to remained strong for her husband, Katya refused to cancel his birthday - and continued preparations from the hospital.
“I had a party planned for Klaus' birthday and I didn't want to cancel so I was texting my friends from the hospital bed asking them to pick up the cake,” she told Hello.
“I was out of the hospital by 6pm and sitting down for dinner by 8pm. I was completely glassy-eyed.”
She added: “It wasn't until the next morning when everything hit me. I was in hysterics.”
We’re so happy to hear that she and Katya have finally welcomed their rainbow baby to the world.
