After seven years on Strictly Come Dancing, professional dancer Aliona Vilani has quit the show.
The beautiful dancer announced the news on Twitter, writing: “Going into this Strictly Come Dancing Series13, I decided that no matter what would happen, it will be my last one [sic].”
She added: “After 7 years on Strictly Come Dancing, as my finale, this has been my best Strictly experience ever by a long way!”
Aliona, despite being married to sales director Vincent Kavanagh since 2014, has been dogged by romance rumours throughout this year’s series of Strictly.
Fans even went so far as to speculate whether or not she and The Wanted’s Jay McGuinness shared a kiss during their steamy final performance.
One viewer took to Twitter to ask: "Did Jay and Aliona just kiss on strictly final?"
Another said: "OMG looked like they were going to kiss!"
During an interview on ‘Lorraine’, Jay played down the rumours and explained that it’s necessary to ‘create romance’ when performing dance routines together.
“When you dance with someone you have to create romance sometimes and people then want to see that almost,” he explained.
“But a lot of the time the papers create it and that sort of thing, but I think no matter what I say people will write whatever they want to write.”
