Since her Crocodile Hunter’s untimely death 9 years ago, Bindi Irwin has cultivated her own career as an animal lover and wildlife expert.
But the 16-year-old showed off a very different version of herself in her latest picture post.
Swapping her casual khakis for a glamorous made-up look, Bindi looked almost unrecognisable.
The famous teen posted the image on her Instagram page, writing alongside it: “To be beautiful means to be yourself. You don’t need to be accepted by others. You need to accept yourself.”
Wise words from young Bindi!
Her father Steve Irwin died in September 2006 whilst snorkelling in the Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Queensland, Australia.
According to reports, an 8 ft wide stingray struck Irwin on the body, piercing his heart. When a medical team eventually arrived, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The family has had to deal with further anguish following news that the cameraman present at Irwin’s death had released details of his final moments.
Following the reports, her grandfather Bob Irwin told ABC: “I personally felt very sad and to a degree angry about what (cameraman) Justin had to say.
“For those of us trying to get on with our lives, it wasn’t something that helped us by any means.”
