Writer and actor Stephen Fry has wed fiancé Elliott just 10 days after they announced their engagement.
The 57-year-old tweeted earlier today: “Gosh.@ElliottGSpencer and I go into a room as two people, sign a book and leave as one. Amazing.”
He also shared a photo of both himself and Elliott, 27, signing the marriage register.
Stephen’s old friend and comedy partner Hugh Laurie was one of the first celebs to tweet a message of congratulations.
He wrote: “Bloody hell it's happened! @ElliottGSpencer has made an honest man of m'col. Love and happiness to all!!”
The newlywed confirmed his engagement on Twitter on January 6, writing: “Oh. It looks as though a certain cat is out of a certain bag.
“I’m very very happy of course but had hoped for a private wedding. Fat chance!”
Stephen has credited comedian Elliott for pulling him out of a ‘deep depression’
In 2012, he survived a suicide attempt following the break down of his previous relationship.
