Jeremy McConnell has left fans of Stephanie Davis unimpressed after jetting off to Thailand for a holiday just days before his ex is due to give birth.
Former Hollyoaks actress Stephanie and Irish model Jeremy started dating after their time in the Celebrity Big Brother house last year and she soon fell pregnant with his baby after the show ended.
But Jeremy has not been a part of her life during the pregnancy after the pair split soon after she found she was expecting.
Steph is due to give birth this month but Jeremy has left the country and is enjoying a break in the sun with pals.
The Irishman received criticism after posting a picture of himself having a drink with his friends while away and not being nearby to help Stephanie if she needs it.
A friend of Jeremy has since come forward and told The Sun he should be allowed to have a “well deserved” break.
They added: “I’m not sure why he’s getting so much grief for posting a selfie of him having a drink. He’s young free and single with no ties. But of course if the baby is his then I’m sure he’s going to support Steph and the boy.”
Jeremy’s representative insisted that he would fly back to the UK if he was needed by Stephanie.
They told Mirror Online: “Jeremy is currently in Thailand enjoying a short holiday with friends, which has been booked for some time. He has an open return ticket should he need to return to the UK before the end of his trip.”
However, a source close to Stephanie appeared to suggest she isn’t bothered he’s not there and never expected him to be.
They said: “It’s typical that Jeremy has swanned away from his responsibility as he has done throughout this pregnancy. You couldn’t write it.
“The mother of his baby is giving birth any moment and he’s jetting off to Thailand on a boozy holiday. He has shirked responsibility throughout the whole precess so we should hardly be shocked now.
“Stephanie is not bothered in the slightest. She has all her friends and family around her so she’s very content as she is waiting for the big day to come.”
