Jackass stuntman Steve has been sentenced to 30 days in L.A. County Jail for his stunt to protest against SeaWorld’s treatment of killer whales.

In August, just after parting ways with fellow Jump star Stacey, Steve O climbed a crane in Hollywood and shot off fireworks while holding an inflatable whale balloon that read ‘SeaWorld Sucks.’

The 40-year-old was arrested for trespassing, creating a false emergency, using unregistered fireworks, storing fireworks without a permit and possession of fireworks.

He pleaded no contest to the charges.

But despite the fact he is now officially facing jail time for his actions, Steve O remains unrepentant about the stunt, sharing a cartoon about his impending jail sentence to his Instagram page.

He wrote: ‘Considering I’ve become a clean and sober, dog-rescuing vegan, I must say I’m ready to go to jail — not just because it will bring so much attention to the plight of orcas in captivity, but because it’s nice to let people know I haven’t lost my edge. What can I say, I’m a jackass.’

The star also joked about the nature of his punishment, given what he was raising awareness for.

‘I mean, if your goal is to make a statement about captivity, you may as well get yourself locked up!’

Last year, stuntman Steve got in trouble over another SeaWorld protest, when he altered a sign in San Diego to read: ‘SeaWorld Sucks.’
