Stacey Dooley is pregnant with her first child. She shared the lovely news on Instagram, including a funny reference to her pregnancy-enhanced bosom.
Her partner, professional dancer Kevin Clifton, who she met on Strictly Come Dancing in 2018, followed up the sweet news with his own post on Instagram (no reference to bosoms).
Cast your minds back to winter 2018 and it's likely you'll remember that investigative broadcast journalist Stacey Dooley was at the centre of QUITE the Strictly scandal with her dance partner Kevin Clifton.
Although it was rather overshadowed by the one between comedian Seann Walsh and his professional dance partner Katya Jones, who was at the time married to fellow Strictly pro Neil Jones.
Does Stacey Dooley have a boyfriend?
She sure does. Stacey Dooley has been dating her 2018 Strictly dance partner Kevin Clifton since spring 2019 â but their relationship was shrouded in controversy, allegedly the result of the dreaded Strictly Curse.
Months before they went official â and Staceyâs well publicised split from her then boyfriend, Sam Tucknott â a source told The Sun that friends had warned against the relationship.
"Stacey has plenty of work on at the moment and her agents donât want that to be affected in the wake of the scandal," said the insider.
"Theyâve quietly suggested that the recent stories could be bad for her image and hope that she will listen to the advice.
"Stacey does what she wants at the end of the day but they think itâs best if she keeps a low profile and that means staying away from Kevin for now."
What happened to Stacey Dooleyâs boyfriend Sam Tucknott?
When Stacey Dooley first set foot in the ballroom with Kevin Clifton in November 2019, she was quietly dating personal trainer Sam Tucknott, and kept her relationship largely out of the limelight.
However, just weeks into her training, iSam was said to be worried amid rumours of a Strictly Curse, with a source saying, "Sam has also been quite vocal about her dancing with a single man and was really paranoid that they were going to split because of the show.
"She says he has become insanely jealous even though she insisted there was nothing for him to worry about."
Sam has since stayed out of the limelight but is still working as a PT in Brighton and has since welcomed a son, Lennie Red, with his girlfriend Fran. He also kept custody of English bulldog Bernie.
Stacey Dooley's boyfriend's interview
Following his well-publicised dumping in 2019, Stacey Dooleyâs ex Sam gave and explosive tell-all interview to The Mail on Sunday where he revealed heâd had his suspicions about âsnakeâ Kevin Clifton from the start.
Speaking of confronting Kevin on FaceTime Sam said, "He went white. I just stuck it on him, âYouâre an absolute rat. How you conducted yourself. Just a slippery, slimy snake.â He didnât say a word. He looked petrified. He looked so shocked.'
"I am so respectful of [Stacey], but I am gutted and I am disappointed and I feel so let down that she did not have the respect for me to tell me and just come clean. Maybe I was too naive. Looking back now all the signs were there that I had lost Stacey, but I kept thinking we had done the hardest bit."
He added, "I had proved to her for five years that I could cope with her going away for long periods of time because the love I have for her is unconditional."
Did Stacey Dooley meet her boyfriend on Strictly?
Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton first met when they were partnered for the 2018 series of Stictly Come Dancing, which they went on to win. Despite warnings from friends against a relationship, there were quickly rumours of chemistry off camera, though they both denied it while Stacey was still dating her ex, Sam.
Months later, while Stacey was on the Strictly Live tour â dancing with Aljaz Skorjanec while Kevin was performing in another show â Stacey and Sam split, but she maintained there was no overlap.
According to Sam, she told him, "I was not with you when we started it all.
"I did fall for [Kevin] but when we were done."
Stacey has kept shtum about the scandal apart from to write on Twitter, "Anyone with any adult life experience knows there are two sides to every story. I haven't got the time or energy to correct some of the utter nonsense I've read on here."
She added, "Re Sam, I loved him v much and only wish him happiness and success going forward."
What is Stacey Dooleyâs boyfriendâs Instagram?
You can follow Kevin at @keviclifton.
If youâd rather stalk Sam, heâs at @sam_tux.
Is Stacey Dooley engaged?
Other than photos of their time on Strictly together, Stacey Dooleyâs barely posted anything of Kevin Clifton on her social media and tends to keep their relationship off social media â and so the honest answer is, we donât know.
They only confirmed their relationship in July 2019, but back in April she said, "Kev and I have been together for two years. I donât think I want to get married.
"I think Iâd be more interested in starting a family than getting married. I canât think of anything worse than being a Tradwife [traditional wife]."
She added, "I would be useless, completely and utterly useless. Heâd divorce me in a heartbeat. Of course, Iâm not going to become a Tradwife, I canât think of anything I would least rather do than obeying a man."
It seems that Stacey doesn't want a husband any time soon (if ever) meaning marriage may be off the cards for her and Kev.
However, just days after she made the claims fans thought sheâd secretly tied the knot when she posted a photo of herself wearing bands on her ring finger and the cryptic caption, "One word. Roger."
One fan speculated, "Guys⊠engaged⊠left hand and roger means yes".
But considering Kev has already been married three times â including to his Strictly professional co-star Karenâ weâre not surprised that Stace is in no rush to get down the aisle.
Is Kevin Clifton still on Strictly Come Dancing?
After going official with Stacey last year, Kev announced in March 2020 that he would not be returning to Strictly Come Dancing after a seven year run.
Shortly after it was reported in the tabloids that Stacey had "pushed" Kevin to quit and thought that they could be a "TV power couple" if Kevin struck out on his own.
Stacey was quick to slam the claims writing on Twitter, "Honestly, we knew this would happen đ. And so it starts, again...... Utter nonsense đ€·đŒ."
He later broke his silence on his podcast, saying, "I've achieved everything I wanted to achieve on the show now, in terms of winning all the trophies, but also in terms of having such an array of different celebrities.
"I'm always looking for new challenges. I'm always looking to learn and grow all the time."
