Katie McGlynn who plays Sinead in Coronation Street, Jamie Lomas who plays Warren in Hollyoaks, and Anthony Quinlan better known as Pete from Emmerdale and a few friends of theirs will sleep out on the streets to raise the profile of The Booth Centre.

Hollyoaks Jamie Lomas said: “Nobody should have to be homeless and living on the streets in this day and age. Everybody has their own story as to where they are in life and we should all do what we can to help one another and especially those who may have fallen on hard times.”

They will bed down outside Manchester Cathedral with just a sleeping bag and limited supplies.

The Booth Project is a charity which gives ongoing compassionate support to those who have ended up living rough.

Katie said: “I’m doing the challenge because I think it’s important to raise awareness about what homeless people have to deal with day in day out, we’re only experiencing one night of it. In this day and age, I think it’s very sad that people have no option but to live on the streets.

“Doing this challenge will help raise awareness of how the Booth Centre supports the growing number of homeless people in Manchester and hopefully raise funds to help.”
