The Corrie favourite, 40, and Emma already have two boys, and they confirmed they're getting a little brother.

But Simon and Greg, after discovering they were expecting twins, received the tragic news that only one of them had survived.

Speaking to OK! Magazine, Emma insisted she and Simon know they are still lucky.

She said: "We had to keep going back to the unit, but sadly only one of the twins survived. [To Simon] We're very lucky to to have this one, aren't we?"

"Very lucky," Simon added.

Simon, who plays Steve McDonald in the ITV soap, admitted that they'd been trying for another baby, but the news was still unexpected.

He said: "We had been for a while. Nothing was happening, then it sort of came out of the blue.

"We've already been there twice before so we sort of knew the signals. The test was just confirming what we already knew."

Emma and Simon have been married since 2010, and are parents to Alfie, seven, and six-year-old Harry.
