Simon Cowell has revealed he would be up for taking poll position in Top Gear.
Following Jeremy Clarkson’s dismissal, and the subsequent departure of his co-hosts James May and Richard Hammond, it took the BBC a good few months to work out their replacement. Chris Evans eventually got the job but, when X Factor mogul Simon was asked about the driving show, he made his feelings pretty clear.
“I would have been amazing,” Simon said at the launch of Britain’s Got Talent. “Chris Evans wouldn’t have been my choice but good luck to them.”
Chris has come under fire following pictures of him jumping out of a car to vomit after going around a racetrack with a stunt driver. The presenter was at the centre of many a joke following the pictures, with some people claiming he wasn’t the man for the job. Something Simon appears to agree with.
“I think you’ve got to have someone who can actually drive a car,” Simon joked. “That’s really important.”
We think you should stick to the talent shows, Simon.
