As any fan of the X Factor knows, music boss Simon Cowell is a devoted pet owner.

He regularly shares photos of his beloved Yorkshire terriers Squiddly and Diddly on social media, making them nearly as famous as their TV star carer.

Now a source claims that the 55-year-old is planning on forking out £120,000 to clone his pooches in order to keep them in his life.

A source told the Mirror that he has his eye on research firm Sooam Biotech to clone the terriers.

The insider revealed: “Money is not an issue. Simon is determined to make it happen.

“He has briefed aides and they are looking to see whether Sooam is a viable option.”

Sooam Biotech hit headlines last year when they ‘created’ the UK’s first dog, a dachshund named Winnie.

The source continued: “Sooam seems to be the only plausible company at the moment and Simon is expecting a report back soon from his aides confirming whether it’s a goer.

“Clearly, Simon wants to make sure that any cloning procedure is above board and safe for the dog. That’s very much his priority.”

The firm, based in South Korea, was hired by UK dog lover Rebecca Smith after her much-loved dog passed away.
