For Amanda Holden, that actually happened.
Cheeky Simon Cowell decided to play a prank on long-term Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda, 44, over the phone during a radio show appearance.
Revealing the joke, he told the Mirror: “I did wind Amanda up on the [radio] show. I told her she was being replaced three days a week by Cheryl on the live shows because she is younger and knows more about music.”
Although it was quickly revealed that Simon was only playing, Amanda admitted to feeling some resentment towards 31-year-old Cheryl.
She said: “No she’s bloody not replacing me. I have to say I felt really bitter about Cheryl, and she doesn’t know anything about it!”
And it seems Simon’s prank has left Amanda with some trust issues.
She said: “I got off the phone and hit the mini-bar. So sorry, I’m not drunk. In reality, he wouldn’t have the guts to phone me and tell me that, he’d get someone else to do it.
“I’m not joking, I still feel like part of it’s real. I feel like it’s some kind of nightmare and I kind of hate Cheryl Cole a bit.
“I’m like, ‘Cheryl, don’t do that to me this late on’.”
