Simon Cowell often judges other peoples singing voices, but it's a rare chance when they can return the favour - Simon famously hates his own singing voice and refuses point blank to warble in public.

Unless, of course, it's for charity.

The X Factor mogul sang the Power Rangers theme tune (we're serious) in front of a crowd at a fundraiser event for Friends of the Israel Defence Forces.

Check it out for yourself below:

Yup. We think the song was too big for him, personally.

So how did this all come about?

Well, it was all down to billionaire Power Rangers creator Haim Saban, who revealed that Simon once asked him for permission to record a disco version of the show's theme tune years ago. As you do.

He then offered to donate ONE MILLION DOLLARS if Cowell sang the theme song at the event. One MILLION dollars! Now that's a lotta cash, so you can see why Simon broke his no-singing-in-public rule… if only for one line of the song.

However, despite refusing to finish the tune, he did donate $250,000 of his own money like a good sport.
