Many new parents can be insecure when it comes to their relationship with their babies and millionaire music mogul Simon Cowell is no different.

The 56-year-old revealed to Good Morning Britain that he went as far as to think that his son Eric HATED him!

He said: “Yes because I’m great with puppies, I’m not great with babies, because like a puppy will respond, babies at a certain age don’t do anything so when he was about five or six [months old]. I was like…. I just don’t know what to do!

“Because he wasn’t reacting to me and I thought maybe he hates me. And they said, ‘no, take your time’, because once he gets a bit older. And then suddenly one day they are talking, listening, responding, and now talking to him, communicating, whole different ball game, and also they sort of become a bit like you. Which I don’t know is a good thing or a bad thing! He’s a funny little thing.”

Simon became a dad for the first time last year after his partner Lauren Silverman fell pregnant in 2013.

Fans of Simon’s were let shocked by the news as the X Factor judges never appeared to be the paternal type.

But Simon has very much become a doting dad, regularly sharing pictures of cute Eric on social media.
