Simon Cowell offered Cheryl Cole her own label to get her back on X Factor: ‘She is a really, really good judge of talent.’

Cheryl Cole must feel like the cat that got the cream.

She was left humiliated when she was ditched from the X Factor USA after American audiences reportedly could not understand her Geordie accent.

But just two and a half years later, and the former Girl's Aloud singer has been invited - or it seems begged - to return to the U.K. version of the show. We bet that feels good.

Cheryl, 30, was a judge on the U.K. talent show for several years before moving to the American version - but unfortunately only lasted for one episode before being cut.

This prompted a major and well documented fall out between the star and Cowell, but that all seems to be water under the bridge now, with the pair looking very chummy at a recent press appearance.

Simon Cowell's latest fallout - will Sam Bailey regret criticising the music mogul?

Speaking of the star, Simon said: 'Cheryl, I always said to her, do you want a label at Sony or whatever?'

Adding: 'I would do it in a heartbeat because she is a really, really good judge of talent.'

And it seems Cowell is laying it on with a trowel to make sure Cole knows how sorry he was for letting her go in the first place, admitting he was 'stupid.'

Cowell also recently admitted that the last series of the X Factor he did with Cole, where they discovered Olly Murs, was the best, and he is keen to emulate its success.

'We want to find a recording artist who is going to sell well around the world,' said the music mogul, 54.
