The Sun has reported that the 56-year-old’s west London mansion was broken into on the early hours of Friday morning, with theives taking off with cash and jewellery.
Simon and his young family were apparently at home during the raid.
According to a family friend who spoke to the paper, Simon and Lauren are ‘really badly shaken’ by the incident, which the pal described as a ‘horrible violation of privacy.’
They added: ‘As upsetting as it is, Simon can cope with losing possessions, as long as his family are safe. That is his one and only concern.’
Police confirmed they were called to an address in the Holland Park area in the early hours of Friday morning to reports of a burglary in progress.
‘Officers attended the scene but the suspects had left the area,’ the Met confirmed.
This latest break-in comes just three years after Simon’s home was targeted by Leanna Zaloumis, who threw a brick through the X Factor judge’s window.
