“I love watching ‘the Botox years’,” he told the Mirror.

“All of us are like, ‘Christ, we had a lot that year. Not so much that year… maybe a bit too much that year.’

“You know, the old clips of us are hysterical, Amanda’s always like, ‘What was I thinking?’. I said, ‘Well, I don’t look a lot better.’ I look all right now, but certain years it was like, ‘Wow’, I don’t know what was going on.”

Simon was one of the first male TV stars to admit to having Botox, which freezes facial muscles to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles, and even reportedly gave co-stars vouchers to have the procedure done as a Christmas gift.

Fellow BGT star Amanda Holden also admitted to using Botox in the past but gave it up after giving birth to daughter Hollie in 2012.

She told Hello! magazine: “Everybody knows that in the past, yes, I've talked about having Botox.

“I've not gone under the knife or had any injections. Since spending too much time in intensive care after nearly losing a baby, I've not gone under the knife or had any injections.”

Simon recently lost 20lbs after overhauling his diet and going vegan and showed off his impressive weight loss at the America’s Got Talent final last month.

Speaking to Extra, he admitted: "I went to see this guy who's very well-known.

“And he said to me, after doing some blood work, 'You can't have red meat, dairy, sugar, bread or gluten.'”

Fans began to speculate that a gastric band was the real reason behind Simon’s weight loss, but he denied the rumours.

Speaking about his weight loss to Best Magazine, 59-year-old Simon said, “People have said, ‘Oh, he’s had a gastric band fitted’ - but I haven’t. If I had, I would admit to it. This diet is all about what you put into your body. It’s not the Atkins diet or anything else.”
