Rhiannon Scully had been playing at a friend’s house when she mixed half a pint of vodka, whisky and orange juice before downing it in a dare.

The schoolgirl reportedly drank the concoction after being egged on by her friends.

Rihannon’s mother found her daughter ‘all over the place’ as she rode home on her electric scooter. She was still wearing her school uniform.

‘When I saw her I was raging, I was upset and angry. I was also scared because we didn’t know what would happen at this point,’ said 32-year-old Michelle.

‘I saw her in her uniform with two other friends. I ran to her, she was falling over and she didn’t know where she was. She could have been run over, she was riding her scooter at the time.’

Michelle took her 9-year-old daughter to hospital where she had her stomach pumped. She was also kept in hospital overnight for observation.

‘Even a fully grown adult would hesitate to mix vodka and whisky… She was being sick in the bathroom before the paramedics got there,’ Michelle added.

The police were alerted to the incident and Rhiannon’s family and friends were then questioned.

Rhiannon’s worried mother revealed: ‘We found out in the ambulance that it was a NekNomination.’

‘I wouldn’t like to see this happen to any other child and I wouldn’t wish the feeling I felt as a parent on my worst enemy.’

Michelle is now calling for primary school aged children to be told the dangers of alcohol to prevent a similar incident happening again.

‘They need to teach children in schools the dangers of alcohol,’ she said.

The NekNomination trend, thought to have started in Australia, involves participants filming themselves downing large amounts (and various mixtures) of alcohol, filming it and sharing it on social media. They then ‘nominate’ friends online to down a drink.

The trend has already claimed the lives of 3 people in the UK alone.
