Shayne Ward and actress beau Sophie Austin have revealed that they are engaged - just one year after welcoming their first child together

Congratulations are in store for Corrie star Shayne Ward, who has announced on Instagram that he is now engaged to his partner Sophie Austin after popping the question over Christmas.

The ex-X Factor star posted a sweet snap of his new wife-to-be rocking her brand-new sparkling diamond, captioning it "#MrsWardtobe".

The pair met on the set of Coronation Street, when Shayne played character Aidan Connor and Sophie played Lindsey Butterfield until March 2017.

The happy couple already have a daughter together named Willow-May, who they welcomed last December, and Shayne has previously confessed that he would like more children with Sophie in the near future.

He told the *Daily Mirror; *"I was born to be a dad. It's my sole purpose. Everything else in life is a hobby. People say I was born to sing but I think I was born to be a dad". N'aww.

Fans rushed to congratulate the pair on social media, with one Instagram superfan commenting "Congratulations to you both, here's to many years of happiness and bliss together".
