Basic facts
Dancing On Ice
In January 2013, Ward became one of twelve celebrities participating in the eighth series of Dancing on Ice, with skating partner Maria Filippov.
They were eliminated on the fifth round episode.
Faye McKeever
In January 2014, Shayne Ward announced that he had split from his fiancèe Faye McKeever after more than 10 years together.
The singer said on Twitter: "Sad to announce that myself and Faye have ended our relationship, please respect our privacy. Thank you x."
He later admitted that he still loved Faye, whom he had proposed to in December 2012, and that he hoped they could stay friends.
Opening up about the ordeal, he told The Mirror: “I saw petrol pouring out and knew I had to do something. I pulled open the door and I saw a little girl, aged around four.
"She was upside down in the baby seat screaming. That really got me.”
Shayne fought to save the little girl and her father from the car, and was relieved to see the other two children escape from the vehicle.
“I stayed with them until the ambulance came,” he added. “I don’t know how they survived that crash.
“The outcome should have been a lot worse. Thank heavens it wasn’t.”
Closer
In April 2015, Shayne released his fourth album - albeit this time as an independent artist.
The first single, My Heart Would Take You Back, received an overwhelmingly positive response.
Shayne Ward said of the song: "I sat down with Mike and said, 'I love The Stylistics, Temptations, The Chi-Lites and I would love to write something along the lines of that.
“I thought it would end up as an album track but from the moment we sent it to management, they jumped at it and said, 'We have to go with this as the lead track.'"
Coronation Street
On 12 May 2015, ITV announced they had signed Ward to a one-year contract deal to appear on Coronation Street as Aidan Connor, a "distant cousin of Michelle who grew up on the same estate as her and knicker boss Carla Connor".
Shayne told the Herts & Essex Observer: "It still hasn’t really sunk in, and it’s so surreal to be here, surrounded by all these actors I’ve grown up watching. My family’s always loved the show, so I feel blessed to be here."
The singer-turned-actor has signed a year's contract with Coronation Street, and "then I guess it's down to the general public, and whether they fall in love with the character and whether the storylines work".
Anyone else bet the public will LOVE Aidan Connor?
