The 49-year-old singer split from husband of 14 years Robert Lange in 2008, after he left her for her best friend Marie-Anne Thiébaud.
But in a dramatic twist, Shania married Marie-Anne’s ex-husband Frédéric in 2011.
Appearing on Watch What Happens Live this week, Shania was asked what she would say if she were to bump into Marie-Anne.
Making her feelings on her former friendship very clear, Shania responded: “I’d say, ‘I wish I’d never met you’.”
But the multi-Grammy award winner has already been unfortunate enough to run into Marie-Anne.
Explaining what happened, Shania revealed she had a panic attack. She said: “You know, you panic in those situations. I didn’t know what to do.
“I think there are just some people in life you would say, ‘I wish I hadn’t met this person or I would have been better off not ever knowing that person.’
“But I can’t say I would be better off because I think I learned a lot from all of that. I don’t regret it.”
Shania and Robert share 13-year-old son Eja, and during their marriage they enjoyed huge success and allegedly amassed a fortune of £300 million.
