Oliver Flint ’suffered grave injuries’ when he was thrown from the bonnet of a BMW driven by Elliott Tittensor, who played Carl Gallagher in the TV series.

The pair apparently clashed outside a McDonald’s in Kentish Town, north London, in 2010, after a row broke out over a mobile phone.

Mr Flint allegedly approached Mr Tittensor after his mobile phone battery ran out, asking if he could borrow his.

Elliott refused and then apparently swore at Mr Flint when he asked if he could borrow the phone a second time.

After the plumber then swore and slammed his hand on the car bonnet, the accused apparently drove forward and ‘hit Mr Flint with the front of his car.’

According to the actor’s defence team, the victim was ‘the author of his own misfortune,’ after he accosted Elliott’s then girlfriend (Skins’ Kaya Scodalerio) and stood in front of the vehicle, attacking the windscreen.

Flint was left blind in one eye and with brain damage following the incident, after which Elliott was fined £750 and had six points on his licence. His girlfriend Kaya Scodalerio has also said previously that the incident caused their break up years later.

Mr Tittensor says he was acting in self defence when he moved his car.

Flint is seeking £300,000 damages for brain damage and partial blindness.
