After mounting speculation about the pair’s growing closeness, insiders say that Melanie B is “smitten” with the singer, and wants to take things to the next level.
In fact, they say that Scary Spice is so infatuated, she’s even campaigning to bring her new friend on the road with her as a full-time support act for the girls’ international tour. But not everyone is pleased with that idea…
“There’s definitely an electric chemistry between Jess and Mel,” an insider close to the Spice Girl, who has been single since divorcing her second husband, Stephen Belafonte in 2017, told heat.
“Mel is really into Jess, and she’s insisting she should continue as support for the world leg of their tour. Obviously, she’s been publicly denying that anything romantic is going on, as it’s very early days, but they’ve become so close during UK the tour."

Rumours have persisted in recent weeks about the close bond between bisexual Mel, 44, and Jess, 29 – who is said to have written her album I Cry When I Laugh about her relationship with a woman.
The pair reportedly partied together in Manchester until 7am, and it was claimed things got so full-on last month during their final night of the tour in London, Jess had to pull out of her headline spot at theIsle of Wight Festival the next day. It’s just those kinds of antics that have worried the rest of the band.
“It’s causing huge tension,” says a source close to Emma Bunton, 43,Mel C, 45, and Geri Horner, 46.

“They can’t believe that, after everything Mel’s been through with her chaotic personal life, she’s letting her feelings get in the way of business.”
But we’re told mum-of-two Mel credits Jess with turning her personal life around, following her bitter divorce from Stephen.

“She’s found someone who has made her smile again and she’d like things to continue,” our source says.
“Mel had the time of her life on the tour and she’s said that’s down to Jess. They bought each other a little keepsake when the tour wrapped. Mel got Jess a really expensive piece of Tiffany jewellery to say thank you.
"She’s feeling really sad it’s all over – but they’ve not stopped messaging one another, and everyone who has spent time with them is wondering how long they’ll be able to keep things private.”
