She thrilled fans last week as she revealed the happy news that she’ll be welcoming her first child later this year. Taking to Instagram, 32-year-old former Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt – who is expecting a baby with boyfriend Scott Dobinson – shared a sweet snap of her Chihuahua Bonnie sitting alongside an ultrasound scan, posting, “It truly feels like a dream writing this caption. You are so loved already little one. Baby Dobinson coming soon.”

And a source tells Closer that the mum-to-be “can’t stop pinching herself” as she celebrates the good news, saying, “Scarlett’s overwhelmed with joy and has told friends there were points she doubted whether or not she’d ever get her happily ever after.

“Becoming a mum and being in a content and fulfilling relationship is all Scarlett’s ever wanted – and now she has both. She says she feels like she’s fully complete.”

Scarlett first started dating policeman Scott, 37 – who she’s known for 10 years – back in 2018. The couple briefly split up in 2021, but reconciled just hours after making their break-up public.

The path to happiness hasn’t been easy for Scarlett. She previously dated Lee Wilkinson, before the pair split in 2018 amid cheating allegations – which he never confirmed nor denied. In 2017, the star had briefly dated hairdresser Luke Crodden, 33 – who even appeared alongside her on Gogglebox – before calling it quits a year later.

But Scarlett has said that her relationship with “soulmate” Scott is different from her past romances, with the I’m A Celeb! winner posting on Instagram last year, “Never give up on finding true love! I’ve never felt love like this.”

And the source says that the exciting news has brought the couple even closer together – so much so that an engagement could be on the horizon.

They add, “Scott’s been amazing ever since finding out the news. He’s taking on all the housework so she can rest as much as possible due to feeling so tired in the early weeks, cooking her nutritious meals and going all-out to ensure she feels looked after and supported.

“They’ve spoken about marriage too, so hopefully when the time is right, that will happen. But right now, Scarlett’s focusing on her pregnancy and preparing for the biggest milestone in her life. “She’s been through a lot of trauma with previous relationships, which has understandably left scars. But with Scott’s undivided love and their new little miracle on the way, she says it’s as if the past is another life as she enters this new chapter.”

Scarlett had also endured tension within her family recently, which insiders say has been completely healed by the happy news. In 2021, the star had spoken of how her mum Betty – who also found fame on Gogglebox – had taken £50,000 from her bank account after developing an online gambling addiction in lockdown, leaving Scarlett feeling “bewildered and confused”, but she stood by her mum while she sought help.

The source says, “The whole family is over the moon about the new addition. Scarlett’s always been extremely close to her mum, despite all that’s gone on. And this baby will be an exciting new chapter in their family and will help heal and rebuild the bond Scarlett and her mum have.”

Over the years, Scarlett has also been candid over battling her body confidence demons – going from a size 18 to a size 8 back in 2016. Opening up on the trolling that set her on her weight loss journey, she said, “When I was at my biggest, I did get bad comments from trolls.”

In 2016, the star capitalised on her weight loss and her I’m A Celebrity! jungle win by releasing her own controversial fitness DVD. Everything came crashing down when it emerged that the star had been on a fitness retreat and her results were the outcome of a dramatic 600-calorie-a-day diet and a gruelling bootcamp, rather than her own workout DVD. Apologising for the scandal, Scarlett put the decision down to naivety – sharing, “I now realise how detrimental [this] is to people’s mental health.”

Since then, she has found happiness in her own skin, saying, “You’ve got to be happy in yourself. Then it’s a bit like a human shield – you become invincible,” adding that body positivity is “celebrating every person’s body whether you want to be fit or you want to be fat.”

The source adds, “This pregnancy has given Scarlett a newfound appreciation of her body – insisting she feels more confident than ever. This is all she’s ever wanted and she can’t wait to finally have her own mini-me and feel like a ‘proper’ family with Scott.”
