Scarlett Moffatt vows to slim down after ditching intense workout regime

Scarlett Moffatt famously lost three stone and went from a size 16 to a tiny size 8 in 2016.

But after falling off the workout wagon and ditching her strict diet last year, the TV personality gained back some of the weight.

Despite looking incredible as she is, Scarlett has decided to hit the gym for the New Year in a bid to slim down again and took to Instagram to let her fans in on her plans.

"First day back at the gym today," she wrote. "I know it'll take a good couple of months to get my memory muscle back into the swing of things but I can't wait to get fit for me, your health is your wealth [sic]".

She posed in her gym gear looking as lovely as ever for the make-up free selfie.

Scarlett also took the opportunity to explain the reasons behind her weight gain by responding to a fan's comment on her picture asking why.

The Gogglebox star said, "Life took over. I know that sounds like an excuse but I was so busy, eating on the road! Was surrounded by not encouraging people - but that's all changed."

The former I'm A Celebrity winner received a barrage of abuse on social media after gaining weight last year, but explained she wasn't going to let it bring her down.

"Bullies are like sandpaper - the more they wear you down, the more polished you end up becoming," she said at the time.

But despite the trolls, the 27-year-old admits social media has improved her confidence.

“I never thought as a kid, when I had the accident with my teeth and the Bell’s palsy, that I would be taking selfies and posting them on the internet," she said earlier this month. "I think it’s actually given me more confidence.

“I’ve learned – and I mean this in a non-big headed way – to love myself. This is what I look like, flaws and all. If I didn’t have them, I wouldn’t be me.”
