Sarah Harding’s father John Hardman has revealed his hopes to reconcile with his daughter in light of her new role on Coronation Street.

The 63-year-old musician has not been in contact with his daughter since he split with Sarah’s mother 15 years ago.

Despite several attempts to make contact, the pair have failed to fix their relationship.

He explained to The Mirror that he hopes Sarah’s new Coronation Street gig will help her work things out with him.

John explained: “Almost every Corrie character seems to be at war with one another, so I'm hoping that now Sarah's in the mix, she'll will see for herself the futility of falling out with people.

"I've made many attempts to persuade her to meet me but she doesn't to want to know.

"I started the quest years before she became famous, so it isn't because of her status.

"I've always loved her, and want her in my life.”

John added that he wants to spend time with Sarah, 33, to work out their issues.

"All I want is the chance to sit down with her, explain my actions and for us both to move on.

"Perhaps Coronation Street will help unlock Sarah's stubbornness but she will control if and when we meet."
