As news emerged last week that the star’s four episode stint was over, a source told The Sun that it had been a ‘failed experiment’ and that Sarah would not be asked back.
But this morning, Sarah told ITV hosts that she ‘was only ever asked to do four episodes’ on the soap, so to claim that that she was ‘dropped’ is, in fact, inaccurate.
The former Girls Aloud star, who also released her debut solo single ‘Threads’ last week, defended her stint on Corrie.
The 33-year-old said: ‘It made me happy so that’s the important thing.
‘You can’t please everyone, everyone was so lovely to me…now I’m moving on.'
Sarah, who had a pretty difficult week all things considered - confirming she had split from her boyfriend of eight months, being slammed for her Corrie performance and having her debut single slated - admitted that acting in a soap was harder than she imagined.
‘It’s a lot harder doing soaps…with films you get a lot of time and read throughs.
'There’s such a quick turnaround,’ she said.
But of her new single, Sarah seemed to ignore critics who said the song was no good.
Instead, she told hosts Ruth and Eamonn that she had been working on the record for a long time, and that she has ‘so much to write about…I’ve had a very colourful life.’
Sarah added that she likes to write in metaphors - hence the rodeo bull in her music video, representing her approach to life.
That’s deep, Harding.
