Following her Coronation Street debut, which was slammed online by unimpressed viewers, it’s been reported that she’s already been axed from the soap.
A source told The Sun: “It’s safe to say Sarah’s Corrie career hasn’t gone as planned.
“Fans and critics have been pretty unimpressed with her acting. It doesn’t reflect well on Corrie, who have been accused of chasing ratings with their gimmicks.
“They will not be getting her back and the general consensus on set is that this was a failed experiment.”
Somewhat awkwardly, Sarah insisted last week that she would be filming more episodes for the ITV show.
She said: “They’ve given me more episodes to film after my music. I don’t know about doing it full-time. You only get about seven days to learn your lines. Sometimes you have to learn on the spot.”
Now bosses have confirmed that there are no plans to bring Sarah back as Tracy Barlow’s love rival Joni Preston.
A spokesperson said: “Sarah was always only contracted for a four episode cameo role. There are no immediate plans for the character of Joni to return.”
After Sarah’s first scenes aired, users flooded to Twitter to criticise her.
One wrote: “Wow Sarah Harding extremely wooden, I wouldn’t continue acting [sic].”
Another blasted: “Sarah Harding was awful, that was the worst acting I’ve ever seen! [sic].”
The Corrie blow comes after Sarah confirmed she and her boyfriend of eight months, Jason, have called time on their relationship.
