Taking to her Twitter page, Ghadie, 32, wrote: 'Me and @slongchambon have some very happy news to share..We are having a baby!! Freya can't wait to be a big sister later this year!'
Friends and fans were quick to congratulate the couple, including fellow Corrie star Catherine Tyldesley, who has just given birth to her first child.
'So thrilled for you guys!!! What a baby boom!!!' wrote Catherine.
Their relationship raised a few eyebrows in 2012 after Sylvain dumped girlfriend of two years, Jennifer Metcalfe, soon after meeting Samia on DoI.
According to Hollyoaks actress Jen, Sylvain ended their union in a curt phone call, during which he admitted he had feelings for his new dance partner.
'It felt like a death' she said of the Christmas time dumping.
It came as a double blow as Metcalfe and Longchambon had met when they were partnered on the show two years prior to Samia's stint.
But whatever public opinion may be of the beginnings of their romance, the happy couple have certainly seemed completely content for the past two years, and are now looking forward to the next chapter in their relationship.
Samia already has a daughter, Freya, with her ex husband Matthew Smith, while this will be Sylvain's first child.
