The forever-bronzed star spoke to students at Bannockburn High School in Scotland to inform them of the dangers of sunbeds and warn them against using the popular tanning method.

She said following her talk: ‘It’s really important that young people are aware of the dangers of sunbeds.’

‘Young girls can feel under so much pressure to look good and the best and safest way to get a tan is from a bottle.’

Sam recently spoke to Closer Online about her new campaign, admitting that she had used them in the past, but steered clear of them after she learned about their dangers

Following her talk at the high school, she said: ‘My mum always warned me about the dangers they posed.’

For Sam, the cause hits very close to home.

‘A close friend of mine used them for years and was then diagnosed with skin cancer, so I’m very aware of the risks.’

‘I don’t go near them, I just don’t see the point when I can use fake tan,’ she added.

Sam is currently awaiting the arrival of her baby niece as her pregnant sister, Billie, approaches her due date.

‘I’m so excited and can’t wait to meet my new niece,’ she says. ‘Billie is blooming. She’s doing great and will make a fantastic mum.’
