If the news is true, Sam will be following in the footsteps of former show favourites Mark Wright, Lucy Mecklenburgh and, of course, Joey.
The final episode of the latest series is next Wednesday, and a source close to the show told a UK newspaper: “She feels it’s time to go. She’s had a great time but doesn’t want to have relationships just for air time.
“She’s looking forward to her next relationship not being there for everyone to judge.”
While Sam might be planning on leaving the hit show, ITV bosses are apparently keen to get her back for at least a brief appearance of the next series when her sister Billie gives birth.
Sam and Joey, both 23, split last year but have been spotted together a lot recently.
Another reason for Sam’s apparent exit is her recent diagnosis with Crohn’s Disease, which has made her cut down on work.
She recently revealed that she has only just been able to start eating again, after living off of just nutritional shakes for the last few months.
“I have to eat very plain foods like white rice, potatoes, chicken and fish, but it’s nice to get back on the solids and eat proper foods.
“I can’t drink yet, only a small glass of wine every now and again. I haven’t got back into drinking loads like I did before on TOWIE, but I will be able to do that.”
