Sam Faiers, 23, has had a seriously rough start to 2014 but has now revealed she is finally “feeling a lot better in [her]self,” revealing she’s now able to start eating and drinking alcohol again since being diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease.

The TOWIE star was diagnosed with the illness after falling ill during her time on Celebrity Big Brother back in January - and the Essex girl has been living on nutritional shakes ever since.

Speaking to Digital Spy at the St John Ambulance Everyday Heroes Awards, Sam revealed: “I have to eat very plain foods like white rice, potatoes, chicken and fish, but it's nice to get back on the solids and eat proper food.

"I can't drink yet, only a small glass of wine every now and again. I haven't got back into drinking loads like I did before on TOWIE, but I will be able to do that.

"I'm feeling a lot better in myself and I'm putting on weight. It's a lot better than it was."

However, despite this, Sam has insisted that it’s going to “take a little while” before we saw her falling out of night clubs with her TOWIE cast mates, but she’s still feeling “positive about it all”.

Crohn's disease is a relatively uncommon condition. There are currently at least 115,000 people living with the condition in the UK.
