The former prison warden admits she just wanted a nice ‘cup of tea’ following her X Factor triumph.

“[I was] totally, totally overwhelmed by it all"

“[I was] totally, totally overwhelmed by it all.

"Last night a soon as I left, I went over to the hotel and there was a bit of a party going on and I walked in and literally got mobbed and all I wanted to do was sit in a dark room with a cup of tea and just reflect on everything, it was really strange."

Speaking about her former life as a prison warden, the 36-year-old revealed she will hand in her notice in person.

“I’m going to officially go in and speak to the Governor… I wouldn’t have been able to have done this if they hadn’t have given me the days off when I needed to audition in the first place...

“They’ve been absolutely amazing and I think being in a job like that - in the prison service - has been a stepping stone because you’ve got to be relatively thick skinned to be in the prison service and obviously in the entertainment business as well you have to be exactly the same.”

Despite plans to support self-proclaimed diva Beyonce on her upcoming UK tour, the mother-of-two has no plans to become a diva herself.

"I’m just a normal person, I don’t want people to start thinking that I’m going to go off on a tandem and start being a diva because I’m not like that at all.

“I’m not a very good dancer but I can do the running man so maybe I’ll have to do that on stage because I don’t think I can do all that dancing that she [Beyonce] does!”

And the Leicester-born singer, who previously told Closershe never lets her husband see her naked, can’t wait for a well-deserved Christmas break.

"We’re going to have the best Christmas ever”

“I need to spend some time with my family now so after this week I’m going to go home for Christmas and we’re going to have the best Christmas ever.”

Joking about her current selfie-obsession, Sam told Lorraine Kelly and Aled Jones:

“You just don’t know when it’s going to end so you have to take as many photos as possible!”
