Sad Jordan ‘ reaches out to Pete Andre’ over sick Harvey

It’s been a whirlwind start to 2013 for Jordan, who married new man Kieran Hayler after just six weeks together, then announced they’re thrilled to be expecting a baby this summer.

But pals reveal the mum-of-three – who has been suffering from morning sickness – had an emotional time last week when eldest son Harvey, 10, had to go under general anaesthetic during a hospital stay.

“I want to make peace with Pete, life’s too short – I’m done with fighting.”

And sources say the upsetting experience with Harvey, who suffers from autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and septo-optic dysplasia, which means he’s visually impaired, made her reflect on how she’d love to extend an olive branch to her ex-husband Peter Andre, who’s a father figure to Harvey and dad to her children Junior, seven, and Princess, five.

After years of public spats and legal wranglings, Jordan, 34 – real name Katie Price – now wants to “clear the air” with Peter, confiding in pals: “I want to make peace with Pete, life’s too short – I’m done with fighting.”

The source says: “Being in hospital with Harvey reminded her of how she and Pete used to support each other and she’s contacted him to let him know how Harvey’s doing."

“She said it would have been great if he could’ve visited Harvey in hospital and that she wished things could be ‘good between us for the sake of building our extended family.’

“This pregnancy has definitely changed her. She’s almost seemed vulnerable over the last couple of weeks, which is unlike Katie. Now that she’s settled and happy with Kieran, she’s very reflective and emotional. She doesn’t want any more drama, just peace with Pete.

Jordan wed 25-year-old stripper Kieran in January and, five weeks later, was “over the moon” to announce she was unexpectedly pregnant.

“Katie says there’s a lot she wants to clear up, and she’s really hoping Pete can embrace her new baby as part of their extended family – after all, it will be his kids’ half-sibling. She even said: ‘Pete should get to know this baby – I would if it was the other way around.’

But sources say her joy over the pregnancy is somewhat tempered by her ongoing legal disputes with Pete. Other than a brief thaw in relations in 2011, when Pete claimed they were “building bridges,” the pair have rowed bitterly since their split in 2009 – most recently with Jordan suing Pete, her former manager Claire Powell, management company CAN Associates and former friend, Jamelah Asmar, for breach of privacy.

She Tweeted that Harvey, whose father is footballer Dwight Yorke but whom Pete wanted to adopt during the couple’s three-year marriage, was going under general anaesthetic, writing: “Held my little boys hand while he was being put to sleep boo hoooo.”

Although Jordan has previously said Peter will always be Harvey’s father, when asked by a fan on Twitter whether Pete, who turned 40 last week, had visited Harvey, she replied: “Nope x.”

A source says: “Pete’s had a lot to deal with lately. He’s been through a lot with her, so he’s not responding to her messages. She just puts that down to her being pregnant and thinks he’s probably still finding it hard to get his head around it.”

The couple have clashed over Harvey before and, in 2011, she was ordered to pay compensation for suggesting Pete didn’t love Harvey as much as he’d claimed in one of his songs. Pete’s solicitor said at the time: “Ms Price accepts that the feelings for Harvey, which Mr Andre expressed in the song, were genuine and he was not being hypocritical.”

“I know I’m the father figure in his life and I hope I always will be”

Pete has insisted he’s always seen Harvey as his son, explaining after his split with Jordan in August 2009: “I know I’m the father figure in his life and I hope I always will be.”

However, Pete, who’s been dating medical student Emily MacDonagh, 23, since last summer, did not seem to be reciprocating Jordan’s efforts to build bridges last week – and it was reported Jordan didn’t personally tell him she was pregnant and that he found out from a newspaper, though Pete hasn’t commented on this.

A source says: “Pete would have loved to visit Harvey in hospital but he had the kids last week so wasn’t able to. But he’s hoping he can spend time with him soon.”

And pals say adding to Jordan’s misery last week was the fact she was suffering with nausea – and, as Closer recently reported, struggling with miscarriage fears after traumatically losing a baby while with Pete.

“I know I’m the father figure in his life and I hope I always will be”

Even when she announced her pregnancy last month, she revealed she’d already been experiencing some morning sickness symptoms, saying: “I haven’t actually been sick yet, but I’m already starting to feel it.

“I’m having to lie down a fair bit because my stomach feels like a washing machine.”

A source reveals: “Katie says it’s now become ‘all day’ sickness and pretty much all she can hold down is tomato soup, Monster Munch crisps, oat raisin cookies, toast or roast potatoes. Her favourite food – chicken teriyaki – makes her feel ill.

“She admits she’s not one of those women who loves being pregnant – she feels up and down and just wants to meet her baby.”
