And funny lady Sarah Millican has proven the point by announcing that she tied the knot with boyfriend Gary Delaney over the festive period.
We know, we know; we're pretty sad we didn't get an invite as well!
Sarah broke the news she'd tied the knot with fellow comic Gary Delaney to her 1,036,966 Twitter followers.
"Thrilled to announce that @garydelaney and I got married last weekend. We are loved up and beaming. X"
And, if you don't trust Sarah's word, Gar's retweeted his 38-year-old bride's message, adding: "It's true. We did."
