Taylor is the sweetest girl I’ve ever met!
The crowd cheered as the British singer was invited on stage by the American country star as a ‘special guest.’
‘She is a long way from home – she’s actually from the UK, and she sings this song that has been in my head ever since it came out last summer,’ said Taylor.
She continued: ‘I know you probably know it, the feeling that when you break up with somebody and then you’re like, “Ugh, I shouldn’t have done that. I want you back”.’
The American singer and a leather-clad Cher then performed a duet of the former X-factor contestant’s song ‘Want U Back’ in front of some 15,000 fans.
The song was Cher’s first single in the US and managed to hit number 12 in the Billboard charts.
While her popularity in the UK has dwindled since her emergence on The X Factor in 2010 as Cheryl Cole’s protégé, Cher’s music career seems to be taking off stateside where her album ‘Sticks + Stones’ reached number nine on the US album chart.
Following her surprise performance the 20 year-old tweeted: ‘Had the most amazing time performing with @taylorswift13, She’s the sweetest girl I’ve ever met!!! Loved it!!! Xxxx.’
Taylor wrote: ‘One of my favorite moments of the night was @CherLloyd coming out to sing 'Want U Back'. The crowd went insane!! And she's such a fun girl!’
