The 26-year-old has appeared on shows including Signed by Katie Price, The X Factor and Big Brother, and has carved out a successful presenting career as a result.

But Rylan, who’s currently planning his wedding to partner Dan Neal, has confessed he’d love to be able to slip in and out of the limelight.

Speaking to the Daily Star, the Celebrity Masterchef runner-up said: “I love the life I’ve got and I love my job. But I hate people knowing who I am. Like when I go for a cigarette and people come up to me, I hate it.

“I’ve always wanted to do what I’m doing now. But this is a job to me. I wish I could do my job but still go out and no-one know who I am. I wish people only knew who I was when I’m on the telly. That would be my dream.”

Rylan became a household name during his time on The X Factor, with his eccentric performances and ‘feud’ with judge Gary Barlow, but the Essex native claimed he’d possibly change how he found fame if it was possible.

He continued: “You should be careful what you wish for. You don’t know what something’s like until you get it. If I could go back I might have done things differently.”

While Rylan insists he loves his job, he’s adamant that, if he had his way, he wouldn’t be famous anymore.

“No-one realises how I feel because I’m good at my job and I always smile. But I don’t see myself as famous. I really don’t. I just see myself as someone who does a job they like. If I had a button to stop being famous, I would press it.”
